Mariette Mikhael

Project Coordinator
Mariette started working at the ECCNSW in June 1999. She initially worked as an bilingual environmental educator for the Sustainable Living project. 
For the last few years she has coordinated a number of projects including the state-wide Household Problem Waste, Water Wise for Multicultural Communities, Tech Savvy Seniors and Ku-ring-gai Cultural Connections for Sustainability projects.
Mariette co ordinates and supports the ECC bilingual educators who educate and develop CALD communities  at the  grass roots level. Over the years Mariette has developed strong networks and collaborations with a range of multicultural agencies and local governments. 
Growing up in a countryside in north Lebanon, Mariette nurtured a love, respect and admiration for Mother Nature. 
Mariette 's background is in social work. She has worked as a family support worker in a women's refuge, assisting women and children escape domestic violence and homelessness. 
Passion, commitment for social justice, equal access for all communities and a better environment are the drivers for  Mariette's work at the ECC.
