After attending a local council’s composting workshop 10 years ago, I was fascinated by the fact that it can not only reduce half of my household waste but also turn the kitchen and garden waste into excellent fertilizers for my garden . Since then, I became more aware of various environmental issues and ways to protect our beautiful earth. I am very excited to join the Ethnic Communities Sustainable Living Project as a bilingual environmental educator. This allows me to further expand my knowledge on sustainable living and to pass it to the Chinese community.
In Australia, local councils have a series of sustainable living programs in place, which is much more systematic compared with my hometown-China. But I can also notice that wasteful behaviour is everywhere. We are facing a lot of environmental issues, such as global warming, landfill, air and water pollution. So sustainable living becomes a very important subject, which needs to be discussed in every Australian household. I am looking forward to sharing the information through environmental workshops within my own community. Let’s save our beautiful earth together!
