People, Places, Plants & Animals

As part of Biodiversity Month this September, the Ethnic Communities Sustainable Living Project (ECSLP) is inviting other organisations to collaborate in a range of activities that engage local diverse communities in the wonder of local biodiversity.

Our bilingual environmental educators are keen to introduce people to local flora and fauna in 8 community languages, including workshops and field trips that explore the web of life, local ecological communities,  Aboriginal plants and culture, animals and catchments.

As part of our range of activities we would like to encourage participants to take photos that celebrate local biodiversity, and encourage discovering of new places in their local area.
ECSLP will provide workshops & bilingual facilitators on local tours in your local government area. We are hoping you can support this exciting community project by supplying a suitable exhibition space. It is envisaged that the exhibition would run during the last week of Setember/time that suits you. We will work with your organisation’s community development officers, bush care and sustainability educators to promote the activity to local communities in community languages.
Objectives will be to:
1)     Create awareness of the value of local biodiversity
2)     Familiarise participants with local naturally diverse areas
3)     Introduce participants to opportunities to contribute to local biodiversity such as bush care
4)     Increase community well-being via new social and physical connections, awareness of community services & participation in community events

The area you work in is rich in cultural diversity and natural diversity. We look forward to discussing this collaborative project with you further.
