Bilingual Educator noted for Leadership

Quoc-Tran Duong, Chinese-Vietnamese Bilingual Environmental Educator is the very first recipient of the Australian Rural Leadership Fellowship’s Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Scholarship program.
Quoc-Tran said that the experience has been “amazing”. She had never been camping in an Australian sense, abseiled, rafted, or travelled to remote areas of Australia. Carrying a backpack with enough supplies for three days was very new, and the floating down river with her belongings balanced on her knees brought back many memories of Quoc-Tran’s original exodus from Vietnam. Quoc-Tran is well-known for her work within the community, and her passionate commitment to environmentalism. She has worked for over 10 years with culturally diverse communities and holds a Cert IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. Of Vietnamese descent, she provides programs for Chinese market gardeners in the Sydney Basin. Her goal is to build better connections and support networks for Chinese and Vietnamese communities working in agriculture.
