Cooling the air efficiently in restaurants

While visiting small bussinesses for the BEST project, our Mandarin bilingual educator Rose stumbled across a smart restaurant owner who had swapped his expensive-to-run airconditioner for a whole lot of efficient fans, saving him lots of energy and money!

"When I visited the businesses in Campsie and Ashfield, I found that a lot of business owners used an air conditioner to cool their restaurants in summer . However, one restaurant in Campsie was different. The owner had installed several wall mounted fans. The temperature was cool and comfortable and the air felt much fresher than other restaurants.
The owner told me that the wall mounted fans are a good and affordable alternative to air conditioning and use less electricity. The cost of each fan was around $100 and it costs about $50 per year to run.
A wall mounted fan is easier to install than a ceiling fan and provides better air flow around the room. They are much safer than a floor or table fan, especially in areas for customers.
I was amazed by this ideal problem solver, so now when I visit other restaurants I suggest using wall mounted fans instead of the air conditioner".
