Earth Hour 2011

During Earth Hour 2011 the ECSLP team were busily engaging with the community to raise awareness about this important environmental event and give practical ways of saving energy on the day and in the future.

Earth Hour activities included 15 energy saving workshops connecting with more than 500 members of the community and an ethnic audience of more than 300 thousand in both print and radio media. In addition a youth gathering at Circular Quay was held where self made candles were lit to honour the hour.
A key message of this year’s Earth Hour was ongoing action. Reducing our impact on the environment is something that we can take action on everyday even after this hour has passed.
