What kind of support and assistance can I expect if I contact a MAP program in NSW?

For CALD Communities and CALD groups, support is developed and provided based on the individual community needs and languages.

This can include:

  • Community awareness and dialogue on the latest aged / community care reforms and changes
  • Interactive sessions assisting CALD communities to understand and access MAC, NDIS, Carers Gateway etc (in English and own language)
  • Access to bilingual resources and materials including bilingual radio scripts and videos,
  • Access to IT programs and activities including IPAD training, Tech Savvy programs, digital media programs etc. 
  • CALD Forums, consultations and interactive educational sessions on various topics related to ageing, disability and community care services (including access issues, system issues, elder abuse, mental health, isolation, guardianship, making informed decisions, long term care planning options, rights and responsibilities. choice etc.) 
  • Identify CALD group needs in relation to services provided through the Commonwealth Home Support and Community Care Program (including social support, meals services, home care, packages, allied health, long term care planning, etc). 
 

The ECCNSW MAP Position works across regional and rural NSW and can come to you.
