Blue Plaques NSW: Nominations Now Open for Round 4

Do you know someone in your community whose story deserves to be remembered? Nominations are now open for Round 4 of the Blue Plaques NSW program, which recognises the people, groups and events that have helped shape our state’s history.

The Blue Plaques program is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate contributions that might otherwise go unnoticed — including the stories of migrants and multicultural communities who have helped build modern NSW. By nominating someone, you help connect local communities with their heritage and ensure important stories are not forgotten.

Who can be nominated?

Nominations are welcome for:

• Individuals
• Groups of people
• Events

Please note that buildings, structures or locations are not eligible for nomination.

How to nominate

You can submit a nomination and read the full nomination guidelines on the Have Your Say website. The site also includes examples of past successful nominations to help guide your submission.

Over 60 plaques have already been installed across NSW — you can view them on the Blue Plaques NSW website and map.

Key date

Round 4 nominations close at 11:59pm on Sunday 13 September 2026.
