Sevinc is a professional artist with a Bachelor of Contemporary Art, and also works as a Special Needs Education Assistant. She skilfully blends her two roles,ย using a mixture of life experience, culture, and education to fulfil a positive life purpose. She will be talking about how her education in art combines with education for students to design and present exciting lessons that actively engage learners with a disability. She combines her artistic self with the principles of education in her profession as a special education assistant in high and primary schools.ย Sevinc explains how she provides students with the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through creative expression and a broad range of historical and production experiences.
Sevinc's role includes supporting teaching and learning of students in the classroom with expertise in curriculum development, classroom management, and relationship building and creating authentic positive relationships in all areas of the school life. She is adept at working with students with learning issues, developing innovative lesson plans and utilising technology to create educational opportunities. In a nutshell, she will be talking about how art helps to touch the souls of children with disabilities in order to create a more inclusive and accessible education environment for all.ย ย

About the storyteller
Sevinc, who migrated to Australia in 2008 withย herย family, is a professional artist with a bachelor's degree in contemporary art and is currently working as a special education assistant in schools with her ongoing education through a Masters of Teaching.ย Sevinรง will tell us how art is effective in reaching students with disabilities and how she blends the artistic self with the principles of education, based on her own life experiences.
