Tech Savvy Seniors
NSW Government and Telstra partnered with ECCNSW to deliver the Tech Savvy Seniors program in workshops that take place in community libraries.
Our bilingual educators deliver the workshops in 11 languages, providing face-to-face engagement with CALD seniors.
Additionally, the bilingual educators teach participants how to make use of the programโs translated digital resources and guides to continue their learning.
The Impact
Tech Savvy Seniors program has given me confidence. I was always worried to use the technology if I was to make a mistake. After attending a few classes I am now more confident in the skills that I have learnt and looking forward to learning new skills!

In 2023, Tech Savvy Seniors entered its 8th consecutive year, and ECCNSW had delivered sessions to over 10,000 seniors in this time.
Sessions are offered in Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Korean, Hindi, Tamil, Greek, Italian and Spanish. The program reached over 1,600 CALD seniors with a total of 330 sessions held throughout 2023 alone.
The program has reduced the isolation of CALD seniors and built their capacity to use new technologies to support their independence.
The seniors who participate report that they have better access to information online, can search for events and activities in their community, now understand how to use the internet to access services like banking, shopping or government services, and are better connected to family and friends.
