Australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth, making water a scarce and valuable natural resource that we must protect. The Murray–Darling Basin is Australia’s largest river system spanning 4 states and a territory.
The Murray–Darling Basin is important to the whole country as it pumps life through our nation – to our farms, communities and the environment. But water is being overused and the next drought is only a matter of time.
If we act now, we can ensure the Murray–Darling rivers continue to support local communities, and sustain people, plants and animals.
