As the state-wide peak body for all culturally and linguistically diverse communities in NSW, the ECCNSW undertakes a range of activities, including government-funded projects, to fulfill our constitutional objectives and improve the range of services available to members of ethnic communities.

Education Advocacy
Rebuilding Capacity: English as an Additional Language and Refugee Education in NSW Public schools - an Agenda for NSW Government 2019-2023 outlines a policy agenda for EAL/D education for NSW Government over the next four years through ten key proposals that address long-standing, unresolved, systemic policy issues.
Energy Advocacy
ECCNSW is the only peak body in Australia currently advocating for the energy needs
of people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, contributing to over ten consultative bodies nationwide.
Be Connected
This program seeks to increase digital literacy for older Australians through training and digital mentorship.
Inner West Sector Support Development and Training (SSDO&T)
The SSDO & T Program is funded by the NSW Department of Health to cover the inner west region and to build capacity for the aged care sector.
DPIE Litter Campaign
The NSW Department of Planning, Industry, and Environment (NSW DPIE) is funding ECCNSW to implement a project that will provide park visitors with cornstarch rubbish bags printed with litter information. The intention is to educate park users to stop littering.
Household Chemical Problem Waste
Engaging with CALD communities on items which cannot go into general recycling or kerbside garbage collection, but can be recycled into new materials if disposed of correctly at a designated CleanOut event or Community Recycling Centre.
Men Against Violence
This project aims to engage Wellbeing Connectors (WB) to empower men from CALD backgrounds (Arabic & Punjabi) to become the pipeline for change and challenge current perception towards domestic violence in their community.
Multicultural Access Program (MAP)
The MAP program provides support to both the aged, community care service providers and CALD communities so our clients have a better understanding of the Commonwealth and State Commonwealth Home Support Programs and Community Care Programs.
Tech Savvy Seniors
We offer FREE computer training at selected libraries to assist seniors to get online and connected in the following languages: Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Vietnamese, Hindi, Tamil, Turkish, Spanish, Greek and Italian.
Speak MY Language (Disability)
Funded by the Department of Social Services, this program harnesses community radio and podcasts to share the real stories and advice of people living with a disability, to enable others to live well.
Through simple in-language conversations, the program provides information about inclusive and accessible opportunities, activities and resources available in the community. The 470+ podcasts have been produced in 24 languages, and are available for free to download.
Vote Talk
The Vote Talk program is a partnership between the Australian Electoral Commision, the NSW Electoral Commission and the Ethnic Communities Council of NSW.
Through the Vote Talk program, we facilitate and deliver engaging, culturally appropriate educational information to CALD members in their own language. The purpose of this engagement is to increase enrolment, electoral awareness and the voting formality rates of people from Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds
