People are receiving an SMS that appears to be sent from ‘COVIDsafe’ or ‘BeCOVIDsafe’. Similar to this example:
The link in the SMS directs users to a malicious website that offers a ‘COVID vaccination certificate’ in return for payment. This is an attempt by scammers to steal the individual’s personal and banking information.
If you or a customer have received this SMS please delete it immediately. Do not click the link.
Customers can access current scam alerts on the website of the Services Australia from the Australian Government, along with help on what to do if a scam has affected them.
