ECCNSW has been proudly granted the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) project, funded by the Home Affairs from 2024 to 2027.

As part of the SETS program, the ECCNSW will deliver the Settle In, Skill Up (SISU) initiative, which aims to empower vulnerable migrants and their communities by addressing specific settlement needs.

The program will focus on two vulnerable migrant groups:

  1. Newly arrived women from Tamil, Urdu, Nepali, and Sudanese communities
  2. Isolated older migrants

By providing targeted language and culturally inclusive programs, participants will build confidence to achieve success in Australian life in areas including job readiness, economic literacy, and cultural awareness to contribute to their successful integration.

Simultaneously, the program will assist individuals aged 50 years and over from various CALD backgrounds to enhance digital literacy skills and confidence reducing social isolation and loneliness, enabling older migrants to communicate more comfortably and confidently with their families and friends online.

The programme will promote a whole-of-community approach to achieving settlement and integration outcomes.
