‘Worship in a Safe Place’ project
Multicultural NSW has awarded the ECCNSW a Stronger Together Safe Places for Faith Communities Program grant.
The ECCNSWโs โWorship in a Safe Placeโ project, as part of the Safe Places for Faith Communities Program, aims to enhance safety and security for three ethnic temples, two Buddhist Thai temples and one Hindu temple by implementing comprehensive measures at places of worship and community gathering spaces.
The initiative addresses the critical need for improved security infrastructure, risk-mitigation planning, and community resilience-building efforts within diverse ethnic and religious-communities.
The project recognises the unique vulnerabilities and challenges faced by these identified faith communities who may encounter language barriers and lack access to mainstream support channels.
By collaborating with these communities, ECCNSW aims to empower them to practice their faith freely and safely, without fear of discrimination or harm.
