Football NSW Multicultural Settlement Program

Football NSW is offering a free football program designed for newly arrived migrants, refugees, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities. The program aims to support social inclusion, wellbeing, and community connection through sport, while providing structured physical activity and creating pathways into coaching, refereeing, and local club football.

Who It’s For

The program runs across two streams:

  • Multicultural Settlement Program (MSP) โ€” ages 4 to 11
  • Multicultural Youth Settlement Program (MYSP) โ€” ages 12 to 25

Both streams run for 8 weeks, with one-hour sessions delivered weekly. Sessions are free for all participants.

What the Program Includes

Football NSW provides qualified coaching staff, all equipment, and program coordination. Participants who complete the program receive participation certificates. A selection of participants will also have access to free, nationally accredited coaching and refereeing courses through Football Australia.

Expected Outcomes

Each program aims to engage 20 or more participants. Beyond developing basic football skills, the program seeks to improve participants’ social confidence and connection, and strengthen relationships between communities, schools, and local football networks.

How to Get Involved

Community organisations can support the program by helping with participant referrals, outreach, and registration assistance. Football NSW is also looking to expand delivery across Sydney, with future programs subject to the outcomes of initial sessions.
