The Cancer Institute NSW has developed a unique self-service tool that provides access to granular information on multicultural communities for service planning.
The dashboard includes distinctive visualisations on birthplace, ancestry, language spoken at home, and indigenous status for local health districts, local government areas, and for suburb levels.
The data has been extracted from the 2021 Australian Bureau of Statistics Census data and allows viewing, analysing and reporting of demographic data to support local cancer service planning.
Detailed narratives have been embedded in the dashboard that enable equity-first lens to decision making, investment and monitoring, to improve outcomes of culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
