Support for Abuse Survivors: Redress Scheme Resources in 10 Languages

The National Redress Scheme offers vital support to people who experienced child sexual abuse in institutional settings such as orphanages, schools, churches, foster care, and sports clubs. Eligible survivors may receive a monetary payment, access to free and confidential counselling, and a direct personal response from the responsible institution, such as an apology.

To ensure multicultural communities understand their rights and how to access support, the Scheme has released updated multilingual resources in 10 languages, including English. These include:

  • Short animated explainer videos
  • Brochures, posters, and fact sheets
  • A simple flipbook reference guide
  • A new CALD Survivor Guide, visually outlining the redress process
  • A Discussion Guide to support safe, informed conversations with survivors

Resources are also available for First Nations communities, people with disability, and general audiences.

Community organisations are invited to share these resources via websites, social media, WhatsApp groups, or print. Materials can be downloaded or ordered for free through the National Redress Scheme โ€“ In Your Language webpage.
