VALE JEREMY JONES

The Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW wishes to convey our deepest sympathies to the family of the Late Jeremy Jones AM.

Jeremy was a stalwart supporter of the Ethnic Communities’ Council and the great Australian multicultural story. He was ever-present in the most significant multicultural fora not only as a leading member of the Jewish community but as a key proponent of the pluralistic society that Australia has become.

His wit, intellect, and deep understanding of the workings of our various communities made him an asset to non-profit and government groups alike.  His trademark South Sydney Rabbitohs Yarmulke had become as much a symbol of his multicultural ideals as it was of him.

He will as the Jewish tradition says, ‘remain of blessed memory’ and we will remember him as one of the great leaders in the Australian Multicultural story.
