What you need to know about fuel security in NSW
The NSW Government, together with the Australian Government, is preparing for a range of fuel disruption scenarios linked to the conflict in the Middle East.
The National Fuel Security Planโฏhas four levels of action โ we are currently at level 2 โKeeping Australia Movingโ.
We can all do our part to keep NSW and Australia moving:
- At the petrol pump, buy what you need, when you need it โ no more. There is currently enough fuel overall but overbuying can deprive others, particularly in regional communities.
- If youโre storing fuel at home, only store small quantities. Fuel vapours are highly flammable, so it is best to only keep what you need for things like the mower or generator.
- Useย FuelCheckโฏfor daily information on fuel prices and availability across the state. You can also step up and be a bowser buster. Use FuelCheck to report price mismatches at the pump to help ensure everyone in NSW is getting a fair price.
Support is available for individuals, households,โฏcommunitiesโฏand businesses to help manage fuel costs and cost-of-living pressures.
