☞speak a language other than English as your mother tongue, and

☞have been living in Australia

This research study may be for you!

This study is about language discrimination experienced by young migrants. There are different levels of language discrimination, from making someone feel embarrassed, to abusing someone, because of the language they use… These may be generally called uncomfortable language situations.

You are invited to participate in this project and be heard!

Why participate:

You will:

  • Be able to share your experience about language issues occurring in multilingual contexts such as Australia.
  • Have an opportunity to enter a prize draw where you can win one of four $50 gift cards if you complete an online survey (see link or QR code).
  • Receive a $40 gift card if you successfully complete an interview of approximately 60 minutes. To be eligible to participate in an interview, you should have experience of living in regional suburbs or places OUTSIDE major cities such as Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth….
