ECCNSW’s new Hear and See Me program partners with Vision Australia and Deaf Australia
In 2026, ECCNSW will commence a new program to strengthen disability inclusion in multicultural Australia.
The Hear and See Me: Speak My Language program will share audio and video conversations that offer advice for blind and Deaf people from migrant, refugee and First Nations communities.
The Hear and See Me program is run by the Ethnic Communities’ Council of NSW and is being proudly delivered in partnership with Vision Australia Radio and Deaf Australia.
Funded under the Commonwealth Government’s Information, Advice and Referral Program, Hear and See Me builds on the successful model of Speak My Language (Ageing Well) and Speak My Language (Disability) to provide accessible information through lived-experience.
Through a multilingual Vision Australia Radio series, as well as an Auslan web-series hosted by Deaf Australia, this new media project will cover up to seven languages: Auslan, Arabic, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Hindi & English
