Sydney Film Festival is back with an important human rights program in 2021. Sydney Film Festival

is screening important human rights films in cinemas across Sydney 3–14 November, and On Demand 12–21 November.

Highlights include director Avi Mograbi’s The First 54 Years – An Abbreviated Manual for Military Occupation about colonial occupation, using Israel’s 54-year occupation of the Palestinian territories as a case study; When a City Rises, which tells the story of the Hong Kong pro-democracy protests, and White Cube, which exposes issues of capitalism and colonialism with plans to build an arts centre in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
